Windstar’s Wind Surf gets a new makeover

Posted by Anita Dunham-Potter On December - 7 - 2012

Windstar Cruises flagship, the 310-passenger Wind Surf, has just completed a “stem-to-stern” renovation that the cruise line says has elevated the ship’s ambiance to one of “casual elegance”.

The new upgrades are part of the cruise line’s $18 million fleet-wide renovation project. On Wind Surf the upgrades include new furnishings and decor in all main passenger areas, suites, and staterooms. The main dining, formerly known as The Restaurant, has been renamed AmphorA Restaurant and features a new seating layout, a state-of-the-art wine display and a new menu spotlighting local dishes and upscale ingredients.

The Veranda’s outdoor seating has also been expanded where guests can enjoy breakfast and lunch alfresco. Additionally, a live-action cooking station gives guests a chance to order exactly what they want. The former Degrees Restaurant has a new look and has been transformed into a contemporary French venue named Stella Bistro.

Stay tuned in the coming days as ExpertCruiser posts live blogs and don’t forget to follow @ExpertCruiser on Twitter for even more Wind Surf news.

ExpertCruiser will be onboard the brand new Celebrity Reflection this weekend.  Reflection is the fifth and final Solstice-class vessel for Celebrity Cruises and while it offers all the great amenities of its sister ships it has some new and exciting features to boast.

The biggest addition is the extra deck, which has increased passenger capacity from the 2,850-2,886 of its sister ships to 3,030.

The extra deck has allowed the line to expanded the spa area and offer premium stateroom categories including new AquaClass suites, five Signature Suites, and the most talked about stateroom in the industry – the  1,636 –square-foot Reflection Suite, with an all-glass shower that extends over the side of the vessel.  Stay tuned for more blogs and tweets about the new Celebrity Reflection.
