Hall of Fame baseball legend Hank Aaron is set to sail on Crystal Serenity’s first cruise of 2008.  Aaron will be aboard the January 4 Panama Canal sailing from Miami to Los Angeles. The 15-night cruise has port calls at Grand Cayman, Cartagena, Caldera (Costa Rica), Acapulco and Cabo San Lucas with a maiden visit to Puerto Chiapas.

Lucky passengers will have to opportunity to hear the homerun champion of 33 years insights on baseball and will also be able to to participate in a question and answer session and receive an autographed photo taken with him. 

On MSC the butler will do it

One butler per five suites will be the service ratio in MSC Cruises’ VIP areas on the upcoming MSC Fantasia and MSC Splendida, debuting in November 2008 and spring 2009 respectively.

As earlier reported here, the MSC Yacht Club area on MSC Fantasia will consist of 99 suites, with a specially designated bar, solarium, dome-covered pool, two Jacuzzis and an observation area.

The butlers will provide assistance with check-in, transporting luggage and, if requested, unpacking and organizing personal belongings. They will serve English tea after 5 p.m. and meals in the stateroom on request, as well as cigars, wines, liquors and champagne. The booking of spa appointments, restaurant reservations and arranging in-suite parties will be other services.

Carnival Splendor adds special eight-day cruise

The new the 3,006-passenger Carnival Splendor will operate a one-time eight-day European cruise in July prior to launching its 12-day Northern Europe program.

The newly added voyage departs Genoa on July 2 and arrives in Dover on July 10 after calls at Cannes, Barcelona, Lisbon and Le Havre. Following this itinerary, Splendor begins its previously announced Northern Europe series from Dover.
