Allure of the Seas arrives in Fort Lauderdale

Posted by Anita Dunham-Potter On November - 13 - 2010

Allure of the Seas, sailed into its new homeport Thursday, completing its maiden voyage across the Atlantic.

Allure has 16 decks and can accommodate 6,300 passengers and some 2,000 crew with amenities that include a boardwalk, 3D movie theater, a mini-Central Park with live trees and plants, a full production of a Broadway show “Chicago The Musical” and other activities.

Allure’s sister ship, Oasis of the Seas, launched last year. However, Allure will crowned the world’s largest cruise ship as it is two inches longer than Oasis.

The two Royal Caribbean ships will do the same itineraries from Port Everglades, their homeport in Fort Lauderdale, alternating between the Eastern Caribbean — Nassau, Bahamas, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, St. Maarten— and the Western Caribbean, which includes Labadee, Royal Caribbean’s private destination in Haiti, and two stops in Mexico, Costa Maya and Cozumel. Starting in March, Costa Maya will be replaced with a new port in Jamaica called Falmouth, which sits in between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay.
