Media outlets in Mobile, Alabama are reporting that the Carnival Triumph has broken loose from its dock at the BAE Ship Systems yard and has drifted down river. Triumph has been at the BAE shipyard for almost two months while undergoing repairs after an engine room fire knocked out power on February 14.

According to reports the ship has sustained some damage. Most notably a large hole on the right side of the stern in the dining room area. Weather may have played a factor in the ship breaking loose as strong storms and high winds passed through the Mobile area on Wednesday.

    Hi Everyone,
It’s clear this incident was not the fault of Carnival Cruise Line since the ship was moored at the shipyard undergoing repairs in Mobile, Alabama.

Expertcruise editor how can you not blame the cruise line? Were there not carnival crew on the ship? isnt it ultimately there responsibility for ship safety?

    Hello Saleem,
I am not taking sides here just reporting the facts as they stand at the moment. I am sure there will be a full investigation by the US Coast Guard and we will find out the entire story. Thanks for participating on our site.

CARNIVAL HAS GONE TO HELL FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS. FOOD ISNT GOOD ANYMORE AND ITS ALL ABOUT NICKLE AND DIMING ONCE YOU GET ON THE SHIP. I HAVE CONVERTED TO NORWEGIAN A MUCH BETTER CRUISE LINE THAT ACTUALLY PROVIDES A DECENT PRODUCT UNLIKE CARNIVAL.
