British press: Curse of Camilla hits new ship

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall after christening the Queen Victoria (image courtesy of Cunard)As I watched the Queen Victoria christening and noticed that the first bottle of champagne didn’t break against the hull, I thought “uh oh” the British press is going to have a field day with this and will crucify Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Sadly, I was right. The British tabloids have been running rabid with “Camilla Curse” stories the last two days. According to their accounts the Queen Victoria is a cursed ship now because of Camilla. This is rubbish, the Duchess was very dignified and did a fine job given the bottle circumstances.

Personally, I don’t understand all the animosity towards the lady. What has she done to justify such vile outrage? Heck, Charles divorced Diana a year before her untimely death. Does that mean he can’t find happiness with someone else? It’s all quite pathetic that the British press has chosen to tarnish a wonderful event with negative press. The Queen Victoria is a beautiful ship and is far from cursed.
