Invitation to Dance (Photo courtesy of Royal Caribbean)Cruise vacation passengers traveling with Royal Caribbean Cruises in 2008 can relive their favorite dance moves as seen on “Dancing with the Stars” when they sail onboard Explorer of the Seas.

Dubbed “Invitation to Dance” the program is not just a class but a full-fledged way for passengers to emulate their favorite dancers and strut their stuff in front of fellow cruisers. Guests will be chosen during an evening of ballroom dancing at the beginning of each cruise, four couples will then be selected to participate in the show.

The finalists will work with the ship’s professional dancers as well as stylists and make-up artists and four couples will be selected to compete in the Invitation to Dance production show later in the cruise. When its showtime the finalists will join the Royal Caribbean cast on stage and compete against each other for the applause and support of their fellow guests.

“Invitation to Dance is another example of Royal Caribbean’s dynamic and innovative approach to offering engaging entertainment and activities for our guests, with all the excitement surrounding competitive dancing on television, we are now challenging our guests to live out a dream while enjoying their cruise vacation,” commented Peter Compton, vice president of entertainment and guest activities.

Explorer of the Seas sails year-round from Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, NJ, on fivenight Bermuda getaway cruises and nine-night Caribbean vacations.

  1. I’ve just booked this cruise and can’t wait! I absolutely love the Caribbean and have been many times but this is the first time I’ll be exploring via a cruise ship.
