For passengers taking a cruise vacation during the Halloween period, Princess Cruises has announced a series of spine-tingling onshore excursions.

The excursions vary depending on the cruise ship and destination of the voyage, with the those onboard Sea Princess able to visit the Tower of London – said to be haunted by the ghosts of the princes in the tower, as well as those of Anne Boleyn and Henry VI.

Later on in October the same cruise liner is set to travel to St Kitts and passengers can take an excursion to Eden Brown Estate, where the spirit of a bride-to-be is said to weep and wail for her groom – killed in a duel the night before their wedding.

“We thought it would be fun to remind passengers that among the wide variety of nearly 3,500 tours available on our cruises around the world, there are some haunted ones as well,” commented Jan Swartz, senior vice president of customer service for Princess Cruises.

She added that the experiences would help create an appropriate atmosphere for the “spookiest day of the year”.
