With regards to smaller ships yes they can be great too but I have found their biggest advantage to be their better itineries as they usually do more ports of call ie: Ocean Village does 12 eastern med ports and when we did the Caribbean many years ago on Thomson's Emerald we did 13 ports of call in 14 nights though there was duplication of the embarkation point. In comparison Voyager's itinery over 9 days was really weak visiting only 4 ports of call and one of these was Labadee in Haiti which was really just an immitation tourist trap not really worth the visit in my humble opinion. Lets hope that RCL realise that their itineries really do matter as much as their ships and do need to be improved. We cannot fault the Voyager as it met all our expectations and more!
