Cruise director wants “Bloggy” godmother

Posted by Anita Dunham-Potter On July - 11 - 2008

Forget supermodels, movie stars, and royalty to be a ship’s godmother. Carnival Cruise Line’s senior cruise director John Heald wants a woman of online substance to take the honors. Yesterday Heald posted a video on his blog stating he that he wants to re-dedicate and have a new godmother for the Carnival Fantasy and he wants to do it during the next “John Heald’s Bloggers Cruise” from New Orleans in 2009.

Heald says he thought about this idea during yesterday’s Carnival Splendor naming ceremony with Myleen Klass. He wants to choose a godmother amongst his bloggers. “One of us,” he says. “And maybe will have Big Ed in a rubber suit smacking the bottle,” he chuckles. Hey John, what about haggard journalist from Pittsburgh for ‘godmum’? ;)

If you’re interested in the next bloggers cruise it sails from New Orleans on February 7-12, 2009. The five-day itinerary sails to Progreso and Cozumel, Mexico. Prices start at $359 per person. Visit Carnival Cruise Lines official “John Heald’s Blogger Cruise” Website for all the details.

Upcoming blogs from Carnival Splendor: Joe Farcus master of Carnival decor, the food, Amsterdam, and why I REALLY hate the location of my stateroom.
