One ‘dam fine blog

Posted by Anita Dunham-Potter On August - 6 - 2007

Holland America Line (HAL) launched a new concept in cruise blogging today: Blogging about a ship that isn’t fully constructed! HAL launched the “Eurodam News Blog” to generate interest in its newest vessel under construction at Italy’s Fincantieri’s Marghera yard.

The site is designed to update readers on the progress of the Eurodam all the way through to its launch in June of 2008. Current postings include information about an innovative air injection system that reduces noise and vibration along with many construction images and itinerary details. Additionally, readers can post questions that will in turn be answered by the line’s staff.

This is a great opportunity for everyone that loves cruising to better understand the process behind constructing these wonderful vacation vessels.

It’s clear, more cruise lines are imitating the success of Carnival Cruise Lines popular blogs: Carnival Freedom Cruise Director John Heald’s at sea blog and Senior Vice President of Marketing Vicki Freed’s travel agent blog.
