Posted by Anita Dunham-Potter On July - 23 - 2014

It took over two-and-a-half-years, but the residents of the small Italian island of Giglio finally have their island back. Earlier today the wreck of the Costa Concordia was towed out to sea by several tugboats. Concordia is being towed at a speed of two knots north to the Italian port of Genoa where it will be dismantled into scrap. The Concordia convoy is expected to arrive sometime between Saturday and Sunday. Watch this amazing YouTube video to see the final hours of the raising and tow of Concordia from Giglio
