Windjammer Barefoot Cruises’ vessels have not cruised in weeks and it’s battling with creditors and customers who want their money back. The Miami Herald reported Wednesday that none of Windjammers’ four tall ships have left port in weeks. Windjammer officials posted a message on the company’s Website stating that it canceled sailings on the Legacy for Nov. 24 and Dec. 3, but is shooting for a Dec. 8 departure.
The company is being sued by its credit-card processor and customers whose cruises have been cut are bringing pressure to get their money back. ”There are just so many difficulties, obstacles and legal issues that stand in our path,” says Windjammer’s Operations Manager Danny Walsh. He also says that the compapny will will give complete refunds to customers “in a short time.”
Meanwhiile, Trinidad’s Maritime Services Division must first conduct an audit of the ship’s management company before Legacy can set sail again. That may take place next week, a division official said.
