Advertising publication Brandweek is reporting that Anheuser-Busch is planning to party hardy on Royal Caribbean.
The publication says Anheuser-Busch will “unleash” the Bud Light Party Cruise with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. A sweeps will take 4,500 winners on two ships for a Caribbean excursion during Halloween. Wholesalers also will give away trips through bar promotions and radio station giveaways. Anheuser-Busch is looking to shed it’s marketing that targets 21-27-year-old males and look to attract “explorers”—people who seek variety in beverages.
Interesting, “explorers” on Royal Caribbean’s Explorer-class ships — how original. Perhaps it’s time for Anheuser-Busch to bring back their “Real Men of Genius” campaign.
Still the beer/cruise combo could make for an interesting new Royal Caribbean commercial:
“Somewhere between the bar, the ice rink, the toilet, and the rock wall, it hits you…this is waaaayyy more than a cruise. Drink for yourself at Royal Caribbean and get out there.”
(I kid Royal Caribbean…:) )
In case you were wondering, Anheuser-Busch is no longer the official beer of Nascar. Does this mean cruise lines will be sponsoring ‘brewskies’ ala Nascar? Bottoms up…

Cruise lines do a lot of “liquor-themed’ parties onboard their ships. So far, nobody has fallen overboard during one of these get-togethers.
