Smoke, fire, and cougars – Oh My!

Posted by Anita Dunham-Potter On November - 15 - 2010

John Heald, Carnival Cruise Lines senior cruise director who was onboard the Carnival Splendor during last week’s engine room fire, has an amazing account of the incident on his personal blog – johnhealdsblog.com. John goes into great detail about the sequence of events that unfolded over the course of three days. This is one blog that is must reading if not for how the Carnival Splendor’s crew did a magnificent job keeping everyone safe, but for the humor of John Heald in recalling specific events like the following:

  • A dream sequence that details of Meghan Fox’s bottom.
  • Why John ruined a perfectly good pair of Marks & Spencers boxers.
  • Who were the cougars onboard and what happened to them after the hot fire.
  • How John ended up “wheezing like an asthmatic hamster trying to pull an elephant on a skateboard”.
  • And how Captain Capisi made a ‘stool sample’ on the bridge.

Don’t miss reading this blog. You will be in awe and you will laugh at the same time. John Heald, we salute you and the Carnival Splendor crew!
