The Port of Galveston is rebounding from Hurricane Ike faster than expected. According to reports the port exceeded the projected revenues for the month of December all due to quick action in rebuilding the cruise infrastructure. Read for more…

Real bad news for those that drove their cars to Galveston for the September 7th sailing of the Carnival Conquest and the September 11 sailing of the Carnival Ecstasy. According to Galveston city spokesperson Alicia Cahill all the cars that were parked at the port are a “total loss.” Read for more details…

With the devastation in Galveston following Hurricane Ike, Carnival Cruise Lines has opted to cancel the September 14 sailing of the Carnival Conquest and the September 15 sailing of the Carnival Ecstasy. Passengers currently on the ships will disembark in New Orleans. Read for more details…

Argh! According to my colleague at USA TODAY, Gene Sloan, there’s a little revolution occurring on board the Carnival Miracle. The New York-based Miracle was scheduled to sail to the Caribbean, but could not do so because of Tropical Storm Hanna. Where did the Miracle go?
